SEACOAST ACADEMY DAILY SCHEDULE 2007-2008
As Howard Gardner suggests, time is the currency of schools, and we have allocated our time with care. The daily schedule at Seacoast Academy operates on a 6 day rotating schedule, thus allowing for the more equal distribution of class periods throughout the year and avoiding the common obstacle of having the Monday schedule so often missed due to holidays. Our schedule very much represents many of the larger pedagogical goals of the school, namely curricular connections, an active advisor program, a weekly double period in each class, opportunities for character education, and secondary school preparation. By pairing classes logically, such as Math and Science, teachers can integrate their coursework with ease. For instance, since these classes meet back to back every day of the week, there are tremendous opportunities for dialogue amongst the disciplines.
